Image files you submit are sent to a third-party facial similarity search API to perform the search. Images are processed temporarily and deleted within 24 hours. SherlockFaceAI does not retain copies of your images.

Usage Data

We collect anonymised usage data including: pages visited, time spent, device type, and IP address. This data is used for analytics and product improvement via Google Analytics.

Device Identifiers

We may collect device and browser identifiers for analytics, fraud prevention, and security purposes.

We do not use your photos for advertising, marketing, or training AI models. We do not create biometric profiles or permanent databases of facial data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Facial Similarity Search API — processes your uploaded image to return visually similar results from publicly indexed web pages. Your photo is deleted by the provider within 24 hours.
Google Analytics — collects anonymised usage data to help us understand how users interact with the site.
Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard server logs including IP addresses may be retained per their data processing terms.

5. Data Retention

Uploaded photos are temporarily processed by our third-party API provider and deleted within 24 hours. We do not store any copies. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' standard retention settings (up to 14 months).

6. Search Results

SherlockFaceAI returns results from publicly available information indexed by third-party services. We do not compile, index, or store any public data ourselves. We are not responsible for the content returned by third-party search services or the accuracy of results.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for analytics (Google Analytics). You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we do not store photos or link usage data to identifiable individuals, most requests cannot be fulfilled in practice. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
